0,0,0: a global snapshot of non-objective art in the digital age
commemorating the 110th anniversary of kazimir malevich’s groundbreaking 0,10 exhibition (petrograd, 1915), the 0,0,0 portfolio is a seminal contemporary project that explores the enduring legacy of geometric and non-representational art worldwide.
the title “0,0,0” references the pure state of the color black in programming code, symbolizing the core principle of maximum reduction and universal applicability—a direct conceptual bridge to malevich's revolutionary "zero form."
this limited-edition portfolio gathers 30 original works by international artists, showcasing the vibrant, transcultural evolution of constructivist principles across different generations and continents. it is a visual dialogue between the historical avant-garde and the logic of our networked, digital world.
ivan belov represents a new, emerging generation within our portfolio. born in vyksa in 1995 and currently living and working in nizhny novgorod, his path to concrete art began in the urban landscape of the graffiti scene, where he had been active since 2006. a decisive shift in his practice occurred in 2013 during the art-ovrag festival: by moving away from traditional lettering to experiment with a large-scale composition of geometric shapes, he discovered his passion for formal abstraction.
a graduate of the nizhny novgorod polytechnic university, belov’s work is characterized by a disciplined, technical approach. influenced by both suprematism and the minimalism of the 60s and 70s, he focuses on the interaction of simple forms and colors. his compositions are built with a quiet, geometric precision, exploring how "ideal objects" can create a sense of inner tension and balance on a flat surface.
while still early in his career, belov has begun to share his work in focused international contexts, including the biennale internationale d'art non objectif in grenoble, france, and projects in australia and ukraine.
his contribution to the 0,0,0 portfolio is a testament to the enduring relevance of the "zero point." for belov, abstraction is a way to find order and essential form. his work in this collection serves as a link between the raw energy of his urban beginnings and the rigorous tradition of non-objective art, continuing the trajectory of modernism into the present day.
