0,0,0: a global snapshot of non-objective art in the digital age
commemorating the 110th anniversary of kazimir malevich’s groundbreaking 0,10 exhibition (petrograd, 1915), the 0,0,0 portfolio is a seminal contemporary project that explores the enduring legacy of geometric and non-representational art worldwide.
the title “0,0,0” references the pure state of the color black in programming code, symbolizing the core principle of maximum reduction and universal applicability—a direct conceptual bridge to malevich's revolutionary "zero form."
this limited-edition portfolio gathers 30 original works by international artists, showcasing the vibrant, transcultural evolution of constructivist principles across different generations and continents. it is a visual dialogue between the historical avant-garde and the logic of our networked, digital world.
alfredo jaar, who lives and works in lisbon as an artist, photographer, architect, and filmmaker, is celebrated for his conceptual work that critically addresses geopolitics, ethics, and the power of images.
his immense significance in contemporary art is underscored by his numerous participations in the venice biennale (most recently 2013) and the sao paulo biennale (most recently 2021), as well as his presence at documenta in kassel (1987, 2002). his influence has led to major individual exhibitions at institutions such as the new museum of contemporary art in new york (1992), whitechapel gallery in london (1992), and moderna museet in stockholm (1994). recent comprehensive surveys of his work have been presented at the zeitz mocaa in cape town (2020), sesc pompeia in sao paulo (2021), and kindl in berlin (2024).
jaar’s contribution to art history has been honored with countless awards, including the macarthur fellow (2000), the hiroshima art prize (2018), and the hasselblad award (2020). this year, he was awarded the prestigious prix pictet (2025).
his works are part of the permanent collections of the world's most important museums, including the museum of modern art (moma) and the guggenheim museum in new york, tate in london, centre pompidou in paris, and the nationalgalerie in berlin.
